# Applying to a breeder's program: waitlists and offers

A program application tells a breeder you are interested before a particular litter, hatch, or group is available. It is free and does not reserve an animal.

## Join an open program

Select **Join program waitlist** on a breeder profile that is accepting applications. Complete the standard questions about your home, experience, timing, care plan, preferences, and interest in that breeder. You can have one active application for the same program at a time.

A signed-out buyer can complete the form, then confirm the email with the six-digit code or secure link sent by Creatures. The confirmation lasts one hour. No deposit or application fee is due.

## Follow the breeder's decision

The breeder can accept, waitlist, or pass:

- **Accepted** joins the breeder's accepted program pool. It does not create a reservation or charge you. The breeder must later attach the application to a matching group.
- **Waitlisted** shows **Your waitlist position: #N** on the application and dashboard. The breeder can reorder the queue, so the number is your current place rather than a guarantee.
- **Rejected** (the breeder passed) closes this application. You can apply again later if intake is open.

## Respond to a program offer

When a place opens, the offer page shows a respond-by time. Offers last **72 hours**.

**Accept this place** moves the application into the accepted pool with no payment. **Decline and keep waiting** leaves you waitlisted but moves you to the end of the line. An unanswered offer expires the same way.

While pending, screening, or waitlisted, you can withdraw. Withdrawing gives up the current place and any open offer; applying again starts from the beginning.

This differs from a listing application, which requires approval for one listed animal, and a group reservation, which concerns a specific upcoming group and can later require a deposit.
