# Applying your listing to an event

Use **Apply to Participate** on a sale event to submit an eligible listing for organizer review. Check the fees and event rules before applying; approval is not a completed sale.

## Check eligibility first

Your listing must match the event's auction or fixed-price format, accepted product type, species or breed limits, reserve policy, and application deadline. It cannot already belong to another event, and an auction with bids cannot be moved into one.

Review the organizer fee, buyer-fee policy, dates, activity rules, bidder-identity policy, and fulfillment expectations. An approved lot sells under those event rules.

If a mandatory event choice conflicts with the sale you planned, do not apply and hope to change it later. Update the listing first or choose a different event. The organizer's rules should match what the buyer ultimately sees.

## Apply from listing setup or the event

1. Open the event and select **Apply to Participate**.
2. Choose the eligible listings you want to enter.
3. Review and acknowledge any organizer fee or mandatory buyer-fee coverage.
4. Select **Submit Application**.

If you manage the event yourself, the action is **Add Listings**, and eligible listings can be accepted automatically. When eligible events are available, a new listing can also apply during listing creation.

## Follow the application state

- **Pending** means the organizer has not decided and the listing is not yet an event lot.
- **Approved** links the listing to the event and can apply event timing and mandatory policies.
- **Rejected** leaves it outside the event. Review any organizer note before applying elsewhere.

Keep the listing accurate while pending. Once approved, use the event and sale records as the source of truth for timing, bids or purchases, fees, and handoff.

## If the status is not what you expected

Confirm that you are viewing the event under the same seller that owns the listing. A personal listing and an organization listing are separate. If the application is pending, wait for the organizer's decision instead of submitting duplicates. If it is rejected, read the note and fix the eligibility problem before applying elsewhere.

Approval is not a sale. Continue monitoring buyer questions, bidding or purchase activity, and fulfillment from the event and your Sales view until the transaction is complete.
