# Care plans for animal groups

Use a group care plan to schedule shared care. Use a [group record](https://help.creatures.com/en/article/apply-records-and-track-activity-for-a-group-xhe5f5/) when the work already happened and you only need to record it.

## Start from the group

1. Open the group and choose **Overview**.
2. Find **Care plans** and choose **Create plan**.
3. Check that the intended group is selected.

Creating a plan requires the group's care-management access, and archived groups cannot start new plans. If the action is missing, ask the person who manages the group.

## Build the routine

1. If starting choices appear, choose **Start with one task**, or another available option. Otherwise, continue with the task form.
2. Enter **Plan name**.

3. Choose **What care is needed?**, add a **Task title**, and enter clear instructions.
4. Set **Cadence** and **Timing** for each task. Check the displayed timezone.
5. Choose an **Alert** separately if one is needed.
6. Review **Check the first week**, then choose **Save care plan**.

## Check who the task covers

For a group with individual animal profiles, supported completed care can create records on its current members. Check the included animals and the expected record before confirming a group completion. Do not assume the membership is the same as when you first created the plan.

If one animal needs different details or did not receive the care, do not confirm the same event for that animal. Handle its record separately.

For a group tracked by headcount without individual profiles, completed care stays in group history. It is not automatically copied to individual profiles.

Group care plans and reminders are private planning information. A completed record can have its own sharing choice when the form offers one; review that choice before saving.
