# Creating a sale event

Create a sale event for an organization you own or co-own. You need a verified identity to create one; save it as a draft while you prepare the format, dates, seller fees, and public activity rules.

## Set identity and eligibility

1. Open the marketplace's events page and select **Create Event**.
2. Add a **Cover Image**, **Event Name**, short summary, and full description.
3. Choose the **Host Organization**. A host organization is required for a new event.
4. Select **Auction (Bidding)** or **Fixed Price**, then choose **Live animals**, **Genetic materials**, or both under **Accepted Listings**.

Use optional species and breed restrictions when the event is for a particular kind of animal.

## Set the timeline and money rules

Choose start and end times and an optional application deadline before the start. Leave enough review time between the deadline and opening.

Set the **Organizer Consignment Fee** from 0% to 25%. It is deducted from participating seller proceeds. Under **Buyer Fee Policy**, choose **Seller's Choice** or **Mandatory Coverage**. Mandatory coverage makes sellers pay the 5% buyer fee. For auction events, decide whether reserve prices are allowed.

## Set public activity rules

Select **Save as Draft** while you are still preparing. In event management, select **Edit Event** to leave comments, bid activity, and bidder identity to each seller or require event-wide choices. Select **Save Changes**. These rules override individual listing preferences.

## Review before opening applications

Review the host, format, dates, eligible listings, fees, and activity rules together. Return to event management and choose **Publish Event** when the event is ready for sellers and buyers to see.

Use the event's management page to follow applications and approved lots. Write fulfillment expectations clearly so each seller knows who arranges pickup, delivery, or transport.
