# Getting listed in the breeder directory

A personal account does not place you in the breeder directory. To be listed, create a **Breeder**, **Farm**, or **Ranch** organization, or claim the existing breeder profile that belongs to your business.

## First, check whether your business is already listed

1. Open **Directory**, then choose **Breeders**.
2. Search for your business name.
3. If you find your business, open that profile and follow **Claim an existing profile** below. This avoids creating a duplicate.
4. If you do not find it, follow **Create a new listing**.

## Create a new listing

1. [Create an organization](https://help.creatures.com/en/article/creating-an-organization-and-adding-your-team-15zqme2/) and choose **Breeder**, **Farm**, or **Ranch** for **Organization type**.
2. Add the species, breeds, description, and location that will help people recognize your program.
3. Select **Create organization profile**.

Your organization is added to the breeder directory automatically. People can then find it by business name, species, breed, and location. Your personal profile and animal listings remain separate from this organization page.

## Claim an existing profile

Some breeder profiles were created from public business information before the owner joined Creatures.

1. Open the profile that matches your business.
2. Select **Claim this breeder profile**. If you are signed out, Creatures asks you to create a free account first.
3. Choose **Verify phone** or **Verify email** beside a contact you can access. Creatures sends a six-digit code to that listed contact. Text verification is available for US and Canadian numbers; choose email if the listed phone is elsewhere.
4. Enter the code and select **Verify**.

Once verified, the breeder profile becomes an organization you own. You can correct its details, add photos and animals, and manage the page yourself.

If you cannot use the phone number or email shown, choose the manual claim option. If you already belong to an organization, you can select **Claim as [organization name]**. Otherwise, select **Claim this breeder profile** and the Creatures team will review your request.

## If people are waiting for your business

An unclaimed profile may say that people are waiting to connect. These are people who selected **Notify me** when signed in, or **Notify me if they join** when signed out. When your claim succeeds, Creatures lets them know your business has joined.
