# Gift cards: buying, redeeming, and refunds

A Creatures gift card is a code worth a fixed amount of Creatures Credit. It never expires. The person who redeems it receives the full face value in their Credit balance for eligible purchases.

## Buy a gift card

On your dashboard, open **Money > Gift cards**, choose a preset amount or enter a custom amount from **$5 to $500**, and pay by card. You can add a recipient email and a message, or leave the email blank and share the code yourself.

After payment, Creatures creates a code in the form **CRE-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX**. Creatures emails the code to you and to the recipient if you entered their email. Your Gift cards page also keeps the card in **Your recent gift cards**, where you can **Copy code** or choose **Open redeem page**.

Treat a code marked **Ready to redeem** like value: share it only with the intended recipient.

## Redeem the code

1. Sign in to the Creatures account that should receive the Credit.
2. Open **Money > Credit**, select **Redeem a code**, and enter the complete code.
3. Select **Continue** to review the amount and any gift message.

The review page does not add the value yet. Confirm the amount, code, and account, then choose **Add to my balance**.

Creatures adds the full amount once and shows a success state. The separate $75 example below shows what that confirmation looks like after a different card has been redeemed. The value is now Creatures Credit, so it follows the normal Credit, Wallet, and checkout order and cannot be withdrawn as cash.

If the same recipient opens the link again, Creatures recognizes that the card is already in that account rather than adding it twice. A different account cannot redeem a code that has already been used.

## Refund a card that is ready to redeem

Only the purchaser can refund a card, and only while its status is **Ready to redeem**. In **Your recent gift cards**, choose **Refund** and confirm the amount. The refund returns through the original payment card and permanently cancels the gift-card code.

A **Redeemed** card cannot be refunded because its value is already Credit in the recipient's account. A **Refunded** code cannot be redeemed. If a refund says it did not finish, use **Try refund again** on the same card instead of creating another refund.
