# Reviewing offers on your listing

An offer is a buyer's proposal to pay less than your fixed asking price. Accepting gives that buyer a checkout opportunity; it does not mean they have paid. Auctions use bids instead of offers.

## Review a new offer

Open **Dashboard > Sales** and choose **Offers**. Check the animal, buyer, asking price, proposed amount, and any message on the offer card.

You have two decisions:

- **Accept & send checkout** reserves the listing for that buyer and sends them checkout at the accepted price.
- **Decline** closes that offer. It does not change your listing price.

There is no counter-offer button. If the amount does not work, you can decline it and discuss another price with the buyer. They can submit a new offer while the listing remains available.

## What acceptance does

The buyer has **3 days** to finish checkout at the accepted price. The listing is reserved for that buyer during this window, and other pending offers are closed. Check the buyer and amount before accepting; do not accept simply to acknowledge their message.

Open **Accepted offers** to see the reserved listing and checkout status.

If the buyer pays, the sale moves into the normal payment and handoff flow. If checkout expires, the accepted offer no longer gives them a reserved checkout. You can also select **Withdraw offer** before checkout if the animal is no longer available or the agreement changed.

## Before accepting

Confirm that the handoff choices still work for the buyer and that any delivery or care arrangements are clear. If the listing requires buyer approval, review the application separately: an offer is not a replacement for it.

Accepting changes the agreed animal price. It does not remove buyer fees, add delivery arrangements, or change other terms that have not been agreed. Resolve questions in messages before making the decision from the offer card.

For an organization-owned listing, sign in as a current owner or co-owner to manage its offers. If an action is no longer available, refresh and check whether the offer was already decided or the listing is no longer active.

After checkout, follow the sale rather than the offer card. Most animal purchases wait for a handoff or transport release step; boarding-included purchases work differently. Continue with [How seller payout works](https://help.creatures.com/en/article/how-seller-payout-works-bhajzr/).
