# Showing a Crestimate and using it for pricing

A Crestimate is private by default. An owner or co-owner can share a compact summary on the animal's public profile without sharing the full private report or changing its sale price.

## Turn the public summary on or off

1. Open the animal's profile.
2. Open **More**, then select **Crestimate** or **Show Crestimate**.
3. Find **Visibility** and turn the switch on.

The status changes from **Visibility: Private** to **Visibility: Public summary on**.

Turn the same switch off to hide the summary again. Other animal team members may be able to read or update the estimate, but changing public visibility requires an owner or co-owner.

This switch does not make a private animal profile public. Visitors still need access to the profile itself. Closing the valuation panel only hides the tools for you; it does not turn off a public summary.

## What a public visitor sees

Visitors see the range and confidence rating. At **High** or **Moderate** confidence, the summary also shows the best estimate. At **Low** or **Insufficient**, it omits that single figure and includes a stronger warning about limited evidence.

The full explanation and comparable-sale details stay private to the animal's team and Creatures admins. Sharing is an animal-by-animal choice, not a setting that publishes every Crestimate you own.

## Use it to help choose a price

Treat the range as a starting point, then consider the animal's current condition, training, pedigree, local demand, delivery terms, and how quickly you want to sell.

If the animal has an active listing, the private panel can show **Use this to help set your listing price**. It opens the listing editor; it does not save a price for you. Review the amount and the listing's editing limits before saving.

On the listing editor, auction guidance may suggest a maximum starting bid and a reserve. These are starting points, not requirements. ## How Finance uses it

In Finance, an eligible Crestimate can provide the animal's **Management value** for planning when you have not entered your own. **Insufficient** results are not used automatically, and a value you entered takes priority.
