# What sale events are

A sale event brings listings together for buyers to browse and purchase during a shared sale window. The host organization sets the rules; it is not a judged show or a general calendar event.

## Two sale formats

- **Auction (Bidding)** events contain auction lots and close through bidding.
- **Fixed Price** events contain listings buyers can purchase at the stated price while available.

The organizer chooses the format, accepted animal or genetics types, species or breed limits, application deadline, start and end times, organizer fee, buyer-fee policy, reserve policy, and activity settings.

## Organizer and seller roles

An owner or co-owner creates the event for the host organization. The organizer reviews applications, manages approved lots, and follows event earnings and fulfillment. A participating seller applies an eligible listing and, after approval, sells under the event rules.

An approved listing can inherit event timing and required policies. Read the fee and buyer-fee rules before applying because they can change seller proceeds.

## Buyer views inside the event

Signed-in buyers can use event-scoped **All**, **Saved**, and, when relevant, **Selling** views. Saved lots keep the buyer's shortlist together, and live bid status can show whether they are winning or outbid. These views do not expose private sale parties or change who can manage a listing.

## Before you join or create one

Check who is hosting, what can be listed, when applications close, when selling begins and ends, and which fees or public-activity rules are mandatory. Sellers should also confirm who handles each animal's pickup, delivery, boarding, or transport. A polished event page cannot replace accurate information on each lot.

If you are only shopping, saving a lot does not reserve it or place a bid. Return before the event closes and follow the purchase or bidding action shown on that listing.
