Understanding Verification on Creatures

At Creatures, we care deeply about protecting our community from fraud and scams. That’s why we’ve built a multi-step verification process for both buyers and sellers.

All Users

• Email verification during account registration
• Credit card pre-authorization (5% hold) on auction bids to confirm buyer intent and prevent false activity or fraud
• All Users are encouraged to verify their account to strengthen trust within the community and to give extra credibility to the reviews they receive

Sellers

To list animals for sale, sellers must complete:

• SMS phone verification
• Stripe Government ID verification
• Know Your Customer (KYC) verification via Stripe (required before first withdrawal)

Security

• All personal data is encrypted and handled by our payment partner Stripe (PCI- and SOC 2-compliant).
• Sensitive documents are never stored on Creatures’ servers.
