What is the Learn Center (and how is it different from Help & FAQ)?
Creatures has two separate places to read, and it helps to know which is which from the start. The page you are on now is the Help & FAQ center: short how-to and troubleshooting articles about using the Creatures product. The Learn Center is something different. It is Creatures' library of longer educational reading about the animals themselves and the craft of raising and trading them. This article explains what the Learn Center holds, how to get to it, and when to reach for it instead of Help & FAQ.
What the Learn Center is
The Learn Center is a curated collection of educational articles, written and kept up to date by the Creatures team, that lives at creatures.com/learn. Think of it as the magazine or knowledge base of the site, as opposed to the product manual.
- What it is: browse-by-topic educational reading. Each article is a full piece on a subject (a breed, a care routine, how to price a sale, a regulation), grouped into categories you can scroll through.
- What it is for: building your knowledge of animals and of breeding and selling as a practice. It is the "learn the subject" companion to the marketplace, the directory, and the tools.
- What it is not: it is not step-by-step instructions for buttons in the Creatures app, and it is not where you go when something is broken or you are stuck mid-task. That is what Help & FAQ (this center) is for, covered at the end.
What is in it: the five categories
The Learn Center is organized into five categories. Knowing what each one covers tells you where to look:
- Species: background on the kinds of animals on Creatures, breed by breed and species by species. Read this to get to know a breed before you buy, raise, or sell it. (Species is a browse-and-explore section that leads you into the more specific reading.)
- Care: how to keep animals healthy and well, from feeding and housing to health routines and day-to-day husbandry. This is the practical care knowledge that sits behind good record-keeping.
- Buy & Sell: the craft of trading animals well: how to evaluate an animal, how to price, how to present a listing, and what makes a sale go smoothly. It is the strategy and judgment side of buying and selling, separate from the product mechanics that Help & FAQ explains. (For a data-driven price reference to weigh alongside that judgment, see What is a Crestimate? in Help & FAQ.)
- Strategies: the bigger-picture thinking of a breeding program: planning pairings, building a line, and the longer arc of running an operation over seasons and years.
- Regulations: the rules that apply to keeping, moving, and selling animals, so you can stay on the right side of them. Read this when paperwork, transport, or compliance questions come up.
Each category is its own page you can open and read straight through, and articles link to related reading as you go.
How to reach the Learn Center
You can get to the Learn Center from anywhere on Creatures, three ways:
- The top navigation: select Learn in the main menu at the top of the site. That opens the Learn Center hub, where the categories are laid out for you.
- The footer: every page has a Learn column in the footer with a direct link to each of the five categories (Species, Care, Buy & Sell, Strategies, and Regulations), so you can jump straight to a topic.
- The web address: the hub is at creatures.com/learn, and each category has its own clean address: creatures.com/learn/species, /learn/care, /learn/buy-sell, /learn/strategies, and /learn/regulations. Individual articles live under their category, for example creatures.com/learn/care/an-article-name.
However you arrive, you read the Learn Center the same way: open a category, browse the articles, and follow the links between them.
Learn Center vs. Help & FAQ: when to use which
Both are reading, but they answer different questions, so it is worth being clear on the split:
- Use the Learn Center when you want to understand a subject: what a breed is like, how to care for an animal, how to think about pricing, how to plan a breeding program, what a regulation requires. It is the place for "teach me about this."
- Use Help & FAQ (this center, at help.creatures.com) when you want to do something on Creatures or fix a problem: how a feature works, how to complete a step, what a setting does, or what to do when something is not behaving. It is the place for "how do I do this on the site" and "this is not working."
A simple rule of thumb: if your question is about the animals or the practice, the Learn Center is your destination. If your question is about the Creatures product itself, you are already in the right place here in Help & FAQ. The two work together, the Learn Center to grow your knowledge and Help & FAQ to get things done.
