Registering an animal with a registry

If a registry reviews applications on Creatures, you can apply to register one of your animals with it, and the registry's registrar reviews your application right here. This article walks the form, the statuses your application moves through, and what approval gives you.

The apply form

Registering starts at creatures.com/registrar/apply. The page is titled Register an Animal.

• Registry (select): choose the registry you are applying to. Only registries that review applications on Creatures are listed, and each option names the registry and the organization reviewing for it.
• Registration tier (when offered): some registries offer more than one tier (for example a grading-up ladder). When they do, a Registration tier dropdown appears and you pick the one you are applying for. If a registry has a single tier, this does not appear.
• A fee note: once you pick a registry, a note may appear telling you the registration fee, if any, plus the Creatures service fee.
• Animal (search and select): pick an animal you own or co-own. As the form reminds you, make sure the sire and dam are on the animal's profile first, since the registry checks them. See Pedigree, family, and lineage for adding parents.
• Submit Application: one submit both drafts and submits the application in the same step. The My applications button opens your list. See Tracking your registration applications.

When you submit, the registry's rule check runs automatically and your application moves to the registrar for review. You are notified of the outcome.

The statuses your application moves through

Your application carries a status the whole way:

• Draft and Submitted: brief steps as the application is created and sent.
• In review: the registrar is looking at it.
• Changes requested: the registrar sent it back with a note for you to fix, after which you resubmit.
• Approved or Rejected: the registrar has decided.
• Withdrawn: you pulled the application.

You may also see Awaiting consent on registries that require an extra confirmation step; the registries live today go straight to In review, so most applications never pass through it.

Resubmitting and withdrawing

From your application page:

• If the registrar chose Request changes, fix what they asked about and choose Resubmit application.
• You can choose Withdraw application at any time while the application is still active.

The fee

If the registry charges a registration fee, you pay it through Creatures after approval: a Pay registration fee prompt appears with the amount (which already includes the Creatures service fee). Your record, number, and certificate finalize once that payment succeeds. If there is no fee, everything finalizes as soon as the registrar approves.

What approval means

When your application is approved, your animal gains a registrar-verified record, which is a registration Creatures marks as confirmed by the registry itself, and your animal's sire and dam pedigree links become registrar-verified too. If the registry is a registry of record, you also receive an official registration number and a QR-verified digital certificate. The number, the certificate serial, and the QR verification page are available immediately; the certificate PDF renders in the background right after issue, and the Open certificate link appears once it is ready (usually moments later).
