Registries and associations on Creatures

Creatures gives breed registries, associations, and clubs the tools to run their real work in one place: a verified member directory, a membership roster, registration application review, and official printed certificates. This overview explains what those tools are, the levels of authority behind them, and exactly how your organization gets access.

Two sides of the same product

Depending on what your organization does, you use one or both of these:

• The Association Hub is the club and association side: a public member directory, an imported membership roster, verified-member badges, and trust reports. See The Association Hub: member directory and badges.
• The registrar tools are the registry side: reviewing registration applications from breeders, issuing a registrar-verified record on an animal, and, for a full registry of record, issuing the official registration number and a QR-verified certificate. See Reviewing registration applications.

The four levels of authority, in plain words

What your organization can do is set by an authority level. Creatures staff set it; there is no self-service switch. From lightest to fullest:

• Display only. Your organization is recognized as the registry or club and can run the Association Hub (member directory, roster, badges). It does not review registrations. This is what claiming your listing unlocks.
• Can verify pedigree. A staff-activated level that marks your organization as a recognized source of pedigree evidence. There is no separate parentage-confirmation workflow for organizations at this level today; reviewing registration applications starts at the next level.
• Can verify records. Your organization can review registration applications and issue a registrar-verified record, which is a record Creatures marks as confirmed by your registry. At this level there is no legal registration number and no certificate.
• Registry of record. The fullest level. Everything above, plus issuing the official registration number and a QR-verified digital and printed certificate.

"Registrar-verified" means the record on an animal was reviewed and confirmed by the registry itself, a step above a record the owner simply typed in. "Registry of record" means yours is the one organization Creatures recognizes as the official source of that registry's numbers and certificates.

How access works (honestly)

There are two gates, and only the first is self-serve:

1. Claim your listing. Find your registry or club in the public directory at creatures.com/directory/registries and claim it. Claiming is reviewed by Creatures staff. Once approved, your organization gets display-only authority, which turns on the Association Hub. See Claiming your registry or club listing.
2. Ask Creatures to turn on the registrar tools. Reviewing registrations and issuing records, numbers, and certificates has to be activated for your organization by Creatures. There is no self-service switch for this, and no self-service way to write your own studbook rules. Your guide is the Setup page at creatures.com/association/setup (in your dashboard menu under Registry): it shows which steps are complete, and it drafts the request email to Creatures for the registration-authority and studbook-rules steps. If you already review records and want full registry-of-record authority (issuing official numbers and certificates), email us at info@creatures.com directly. We then activate your organization at the right level and set up your rule set with you.

Who can operate these tools

Only the owners and co-owners of your organization can use the registry and association tools. Invited team members cannot. If you need another person to help run the registrar queue or the Hub, add them as a co-owner. See Creating an organization and adding your team.

Where each tool lives

Once your organization is recognized, a Registry section appears in your dashboard menu with the tools you currently have access to: Association Hub, Setup, Registrations, and Certificates. The registrar items read All registrations and All certificates when the registry you are currently working in is not one that grants that authority, and Registrations carries a count of open applications (in review, awaiting consent, or with changes requested) across every registry organization you review for. Each item appears only at the authority level that can use it, so a display-only organization sees the Hub and Setup, and the registrar entries join them when Creatures activates those levels.
