Ordering a printed certificate for your animal
Ordering a printed certificate for your animal
When your animal is registered with a registry of record, its registration already comes with a QR-verified digital certificate. If the registry offers it, you can also order a printed copy. This article covers where to start, the order form, and how to follow it.
Where to start: your animal's Records tab

This is the one place in the app that links you straight in. On your animal's profile, open the Records tab and find the Official Registration section. When your animal has an issued certificate from a registry of record and printed certificates are available, an Order button sits next to Printed certificate, showing the certificate serial and the total price. See The animal records tab.
The order form

The order page is titled Printed certificate and shows the animal, registry, and certificate serial, plus:
- The total, broken out: a Registry fee and a Creatures service fee. The total is what you pay.
- Three steps: Pay securely, Registry prints, Mail or pickup.
- Fulfillment method (Mail or Pickup): Mail ("Printed by the registry, shipped when ready") ships the certificate to an address. Pickup ("Collect from the registry office") means you collect it from the registry.
- Recipient name: prefilled with your name; edit it if the certificate should go to someone else.
- Address (for Mail): Address line 1, line 2, City, State, Postal code, and Country (which defaults to US). A complete address is required to mail a certificate.
- Continue to payment: takes you to a secure Creatures checkout. As the form notes, the registry receives the paid order in its print queue only after payment succeeds, so printing begins once you have paid.
If you see "Printed certificates are not currently available for this registry," that registry has not turned on printed fulfillment, so only the digital certificate is available.
Following your order
After you order, your order shows a status you can follow: Awaiting payment, Ready to print, Printed, Mailed, or Canceled. A Recent orders list on the page gives you Pay (if you still owe), the PDF, and a Status link, and each order has its own status page at creatures.com/certificate-fulfillment/orders/ followed by the order's id.
The digital certificate and the QR page
The printed certificate is the physical version of something you already have: an issued registration comes with a QR-verified digital certificate, and its QR verification page lets anyone confirm the registration is genuine. Ordering a printed copy does not change any of that; it just puts a physical certificate in your hands. For how the registration was issued in the first place, see Registering an animal with a registry.
