Reminders and upcoming care
Reminders and upcoming care
Reminders keep you ahead of due care so a booster or a recheck never slips. They appear on the animal's Records tab and can sync to your own calendar.
Set a reminder

You can always create a reminder by hand. On the Records tab choose Add record, then Reminder, and fill in:
- Title: what needs doing.
- Due date: when it is due. You will be notified on this date.
- Additional notification before the due date (days): an optional extra heads-up, set under "Expand extra fields." Enter how many days ahead of the due date you want a first nudge (for example 7), so the task starts showing as upcoming before it is actually due.
- Description: an optional notes field for any extra detail about the reminder.
Reminders are private to you and your team, so they never appear on the animal's public profile. They are your task list, not a public record.
Follow-ups create reminders automatically
You usually do not have to create reminders by hand. Whenever you set a follow-up date on a vaccination, medication, examination, or routine care record, Creatures creates the matching reminder for you. That is how "next booster due" or "repeat in 14 days" lands on your list with no extra step. For reproductive routines like a pre-breeding vaccine series or a timed-AI synchronization, breeding and reproductive care protocols schedule these same reminders from a repeatable plan.
The Upcoming care strip
The Records tab shows an Upcoming care strip with everything due in the next month, with overdue items highlighted in red so they stand out.

For each due item you have three actions, and each does something specific:
- Log now: opens the record form already filled in for that task. Logging the care this way also clears the reminder, so you never double-handle it.
- Snooze: pushes it out (an hour, a day, or a week) when it is not the right moment, without losing it.
- Skip: dismisses it when it does not apply this time, without it counting as overdue.
Take your care calendar with you
You can subscribe to your care schedule from your own calendar app (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and the like) using Creatures' calendar feed, so reminders and care-plan due dates appear alongside the rest of your week. Care plans, covered next, feed this same Upcoming care list, so a plan you apply once keeps your calendar populated on its own.
