A personal profile represents you. An organization represents your farm, ranch, breeding program, or business as its own entity, with its own public page, its own payouts, and a team of people. This guide covers creating one, every field on the form, the team roles and what each can do, and how organization verification works.

Creating an organization

Personal account vs. organization

Your personal account is your individual identity: your profile, your animals, your activity.
An organization is a shared entity with its own profile page at creatures.com/org/{handle}, its own payout account, and a team. You can own and run more than one, and bring other people in.
Why create one: an org is how a business presents itself, how multiple people work under one name, how you take payouts as a business rather than an individual, and how you get listed in the breeder directory (organizations of type breeder, farm, or ranch are listed automatically). Health and medical records

The health record types capture an animal's medical history in structured fields, so the detail stays useful and searchable rather than buried in a note. As a group, medical detail defaults to private (visible only to you and your team), which you can change per record. Whatever you mark public surfaces on the animal's profile, where buyers and followers look.

Two fields are required: the vaccine name and the date administered. Everything else is optional, and each optional field has a purpose:

Follow-up date: when the next dose or booster is due. Setting it creates a reminder automatically, so the booster shows up in Upcoming care without you tracking it by hand.
Expiration date: the vaccine's own expiry, useful if you keep stock.
Manufacturer, Lot number, Serial number: traceability detail that matters for recalls and for buyers who want provenance.
Administered by: the vet, clinic, or person who gave it.
Route and Injection site: how and where it was given (for example subcutaneous, left flank).
Location and Notes: free text for anything else.

Connecting your payout account

Connecting a payout account is the third and final setup step for getting paid on Creatures. It is the bank-account side of selling: it is how money that buyers pay, and that lands in your Creatures Wallet, makes its way out to your actual bank. Creatures uses Stripe to handle payouts, so your banking details live with Stripe, not on Creatures. This article covers connecting an account, the important difference between "connected" and "payout-ready," and what to expect during setup.

Personal vs. organization payout accounts

You connect a payout account to the entity that is being paid, and there are two kinds:

A personal payout account. Connected from /stripe/connect_info (which explains what is coming) and set up for you as an individual. This is what a personal seller uses. Stripe creates an account of the "individual" type in your name.
An organization payout account. Connected from your organization's page at /org/{handle}/stripe/connect, and set up for the organization as a business. Stripe creates a "company" account in the organization's name. Only an organization's owner or co-owner can connect or manage it. This is what a farm or business uses so payouts go to the business, not a person.

An animal profile is that animal's home on Creatures. It holds the photos, the records, the pedigree, and (for animals you own) the finances and anything you sell. It is also what powers the public herdbook, your Creatures website, and the Crestimate value estimate. Adding an animal is the first thing you do, and everything else builds on it.

The Add-an-animal form opens as a sliding sheet from your home feed (its address is /?open=add_animal). If you go straight to the create page, Creatures sends you to that sheet. You can start a profile, set it aside, and the sheet keeps your place.

The first fork: do you own this animal?

Near the top, "Do you own this animal?" is a required choice, and it changes the rest of the form:

What it is: a radio with two answers, "Yes, I own or co-own this animal" and "No, I am adding this for pedigree or lineage reference".
The allowed values and what each means: choosing Yes builds an owned profile with everything below (photo required, privacy, finance, species and breed, and your website fields). Choosing No builds a reference animal, a stand-in for an animal you do not own (an ancestor, another breeder's animal) so you can record lineage. Saving searches and using your watchlist

Two tools help you keep up with a moving marketplace without checking it constantly: saved searches alert you when new animals match what you are looking for, and the watchlist lets you follow specific listings you are weighing.

Once you have set filters that find the right animals, save that combination so Creatures can tell you when something new matches.

Editing a saved search

How to save one: set your filters on the marketplace, then save the search. Your saved searches appear as pills along the top of the marketplace, so one click reruns that exact search.
Where you can start one: the marketplace is the main place, but you do not have to be there. When you browse the breeder directory filtered to a species (a breed narrows it further), and on species and Learn pages, a "get listing alerts" band lets you set up the same species-scoped alert for that kind of animal. You can even start one while signed out: Creatures captures your email so it can notify you, and you confirm it to finish.
What it does: Creatures watches for new listings that match your saved filters and notifies you, so you hear about a fitting animal early instead of stumbling on it later.

Is there a Creatures app?

Not a separate one in the App Store or Google Play, not yet. Creatures runs in your phone's web browser today. But you do not have to keep finding it from a bookmark or a link: you can add Creatures to your home screen so it gets its own icon and opens like a regular app. You start that from the Get the app option in your account menu.

This is a real, supported way to use Creatures on your phone, and for most people it is the better way. Adding it to your home screen takes about ten seconds, needs no download, and fixes the most common phone annoyance, which is getting signed out over and over.

Why add it to your home screen

The home-screen version is not just a shortcut. When you open Creatures from the icon it adds, two things change:

It opens in its own full-screen window, without the browser address bar and tabs, so it looks and feels like an app rather than a web page.
It keeps you signed in. This is the big one. The icon opens Creatures in its own space that remembers your sign-in, so you are not asked to log in every time you come back.
