Buying at a fixed price

A fixed-price listing lets you buy an animal at the seller's price right away, with no auction. Select Buy Now, and Creatures walks you through any extras the seller offers, then a Checkout summary, then a secure payment page.


Before you start


  • Look for the Identity verified badge above the price. It means the seller has passed the Creatures identity check.
  • If the listing says Buyer Approval Required, select Apply to Buy first. Buy Now appears once the seller approves you. See Buyer applications.
  • Buying more than one animal, or hoping for a lower price? Use Add to cart to buy several animals in one checkout, or Make an offer to suggest a price.


Buy now, step by step


  1. Select Buy Now under the price. On a phone, a Buy Now bar stays at the bottom of the screen after you scroll past it.

  1. If the seller offers boarding, Add boarding? asks if the animal should stay at their farm for now. Choose Include boarding or Skip boarding. See Buying an animal with boarding included.
  2. If the seller delivers, or Creatures Transport can carry the animal, a delivery step opens next. Its title is Add seller delivery?, Add Creatures Transport? or Delivery options. Enter your location to see a price and select Continue, or select Skip to pick the animal up. There is no delivery step when you include boarding.   3. Review the Checkout summary:
    • Under Use available balance:, tick Creatures Credit or Wallet balance to spend it here. Skip goes on without them.
    • Select Have a promo code? to enter a code. It isn't offered when you include boarding.
    • Check Animal price, Service fee, any delivery or transport line, Subtotal and Total.
    • Tick Keep this animal private if you don't want the purchase shown in public. See Keeping your purchase private.

  1. Select Continue to Checkout. The secure payment page opens, where you can pay by card, bank account or another method it lists. If your Credit and Wallet cover the whole total, the button says Purchase instead. Tick the box to agree to the terms, then select Purchase.


The Service fee is 5% of the animal price, plus 5% of any delivery or transport you add. Some sellers cover the fee for you. Then you only pay it on Creatures Transport, if you choose it.


While you check out


Once you select Continue to Checkout, the listing is held for you for 10 minutes. The listing shows Reserved for you: complete checkout, and other buyers see Buyer is checking out. If you don't finish paying in time, the listing opens to everyone again.


If you pay by bank transfer, the listing says Your payment is on the way! and stays reserved for you while the transfer clears.


What happens next


Creatures holds your payment and pays the seller only after you confirm pickup or delivery. Boarding is the one exception: the seller is paid for the animal when checkout completes.


Find your purchase under Dashboard > Buying > Purchases. Its card shows your next step, such as Confirm handoff when the animal is ready for pickup. When the animal is in your care, follow Receiving your animal and confirming delivery.
