Check market prices with the Livestock Value Calculator
The Livestock Value Calculator shows a directional market range from qualifying auction sales. It is useful for market research, but it is not an appraisal or a price for one specific animal.
Enter the animal's basics
Choose the Species, then add the Breed when you know it. If the breed is not listed, leave the breed choice on Any breed / not sure and type the auction breed name under Breed not listed.
Choose Male, Female, or Unknown, then select the age group. Select Get market range.
Only species with enough qualifying sale data appear. The calculator limits repeated requests, so pause and try later if it says there have been too many.
Read the result card
The large range covers the middle half of prices in the chosen set of sales. The card also shows:
- Median, the middle sale price in the sample;
- Sample count, the number of qualifying sales used;
- Age input, so you can confirm the selected group;
- Latest sale in sample, which shows how recent that set is.
Creatures requires at least 25 priced sales before it shows a public range. When you enter a breed, it first looks for sales matching breed, sex, and age. If that group is too small, it can use a broader set for the breed, then the species. A yellow note explains when a broader set replaces the requested match. Without a breed, the result uses species-level sales.
Check the range heading and any yellow note before comparing prices. Age input repeats your choice; it does not mean a broader result has been filtered to that age.
If no level has 25 sales, the page says Not enough sales data yet instead of showing a weak estimate.
Save the context or add the animal
When signed out, Save this market range offers to create a free account and carry the species, breed, sex, age, and range into the animal you add.
When signed in, Add animal with these details opens the add-animal form with the species, known breed, and sex filled in. Check the age and remaining details before saving. Nothing is added until you complete the form. See Adding an animal to Creatures.
When you need an animal-specific estimate
The public range does not adjust for an individual animal's photos, pedigree, region, training, genetics, or condition. After the animal has a complete Creatures profile, a Crestimate can use that animal's information for a more specific estimate with reasoning.
