Covering buyer fees and adding promoter rewards

You can do both from the Sale Incentives box near the end of the listing form. Both are optional, both come out of your sale money, and you pay nothing unless the animal sells.


Sale Incentives with the buyer fee covered and a 4% promoter boost


Cover the buyer's service fee


Buyers usually pay a 5% service fee on top of the price. Turn on Cover the Buyer's Service Fee to pay it for them.


  • Your listing card shows No Buyer Fees, so buyers see a simple price.
  • The buyer's 5% comes out of your payout when the sale closes.
  • If Creatures Pro covers the seller who gets paid, Pro already waives your seller fee. Covering the buyer fee means you also pay the buyer's 5%.


Some sale events require every seller to cover this fee. If your listing is in one of those events, Creatures turns the option on for you. When you edit the listing, you'll see This event requires all sellers to cover the buyer's service fee.


Boost your promoter's earnings


A promoter is anyone who shares your listing with their own link from Promote & Earn. Creatures already pays them 1% of the sale. A boost adds a reward from you on top of that.


  1. Turn on Boost your Promoter's Earnings.
  2. Choose Percentage of sale or Fixed amount.
  3. Type the amount under Boost. It can be up to 90% of the price, or 95% if you have Creatures Pro.


You pay the boost only when someone buys through a promoter's link and the sale completes. It comes out of your proceeds at closing. The buyer's price stays the same.


Change a boost after you publish


On your public listing, press Promote & Earn. Under Boost your Promoter's Earnings (optional), choose the type, type the amount, and press Set. You can also change the boost, or the buyer fee choice, with Edit Listing.

A boost does not move your listing up in search. It makes sharing worth more: promoters see the bigger reward when they open Promote & Earn on your listing.


What comes out of a sale


These costs are separate, and more than one can apply to the same sale:


  • the 5% seller service fee (waived when Creatures Pro covers the seller who gets paid)
  • the buyer's 5% fee, if you cover it
  • a sale event fee, if the event's organizer charges one
  • your promoter boost, if a promoter made the sale
  • a volume discount or promo code that you fund
