Promoting your listing and seller bonuses
Promoting your listing and seller bonuses
Two optional tools help a listing sell faster: you can cover the buyer's fee so your listing reads as fee-free to buyers, and you can boost the reward that members earn for promoting your listing. Both live in the Sale Incentives section of the create or edit listing form, and both come out of your proceeds, so they are levers you choose to pull.

Cover the Buyer's Service Fee
- What it is: a checkbox, "Cover the Buyer's Service Fee." Buyers normally pay a 5% buyer fee at checkout; this makes you absorb it instead.
- What it does to your listing: the listing displays "No Buyer Fees", a visible badge that makes your listing more attractive than comparable ones where the buyer pays the fee.
- The implication for your payout: the 5% buyer fee is deducted from your payout rather than charged to the buyer. So you net 5% less, in exchange for a listing that looks cheaper to buyers and can sell faster or higher. Decide based on how competitive your price needs to be.
- Note for events: if you list into an event whose organizer set Mandatory Coverage, covering the buyer fee is required and this is turned on for you. See Creating a sale event.
Boost your Promoter's Earnings
Creatures lets other members promote listings and earn a reward when their promotion leads to a sale. You can sweeten that reward for your listing:
- What it is: a checkbox, "Boost your Promoter's Earnings," with a field for how big the boost is.
- What it does: raises the reward a promoter earns for selling your animal, which gives members a reason to promote yours over others.
- The implication for your payout: the boost is paid from your proceeds, so a bigger reward means a smaller net to you, but only when a promoted sale actually happens. It is a pay-for-results lever: you only pay the boost when it works.
Promote and Earn, in brief
The broader system behind the boost is Promote and Earn: members can share a listing with their own referral link, and if their share leads to the sale, they earn the promoter reward. As a seller, this means your listing can be marketed by a wider network than just you. Boosting the reward (above) is how you make your listing the one members choose to promote. For the promoter's side of this, see Referrals and promoter rewards: earn by sharing.
How these interact with your fees
These incentives sit on top of the normal 5% seller fee (waived with Creatures Pro). Covering the buyer fee adds 5%, and a promoter boost adds whatever you set, both from your proceeds, only realized on a sale.
