Creatures Pro: pricing, benefits, and managing your plan
Creatures Pro: pricing, benefits, and managing your plan
Creatures Pro is the seller subscription. It removes the per-sale fees a seller would otherwise pay and the fee on recording an off-platform transfer, so if you sell, provide services, or transfer animals with any regularity, it can pay for itself. You manage it at /subscription. This article covers exactly what it costs, exactly what it waives, and how to subscribe, cancel, or switch your plan.

Pricing
Pro is an annual membership with two ways to pay, and both are a one-year commitment:
- Monthly: $49.95 per month. Billed every month on a 12-month commitment. This is the "pay monthly" version of the annual plan, so you are committing to the year and spreading the cost across twelve payments.
- Annual: $499.00, paid once. Charged a single time up front for the year. Twelve monthly payments add up to $599.40, so paying annually saves about $100 over the year.
Choose monthly to spread the cost, or annual to pay once and save. Either way you get the same Pro benefits for the full term.
What Pro waives
Pro's value is in the fees it removes. Here is each one, with the normal cost and what Pro turns it into:
1. The seller service fee: normally 5%, becomes $0
When you sell an animal on the marketplace, Creatures normally takes a 5% seller fee out of your proceeds. With Pro, that fee is $0 on your sales. On a $2,000 sale, that is $100 you keep instead of paying. This waiver is tied to the account that holds Pro directly: your personal listings need your personal Pro, and an organization's Pro frees that organization's listings.
2. The caretaker and booking provider fee: normally 5%, becomes $0
When you provide a paid service (a booking, stewardship as a caretaker, boarding, or genetic storage), Creatures normally withholds a 5% provider fee from what you earn. With Pro, that provider fee is $0. For a one-time booking, this follows the same direct rule as the seller fee: the provider account itself needs Pro. For the recurring caretaker services (stewardship, boarding, and genetic storage), the waiver also applies when an organization you own or co-own holds Pro, the same way transfers work (next section).
3. The off-platform transfer fee: normally $19.95, becomes $0
When a sale happens off Creatures but the ownership change is still recorded on the platform, there is normally a $19.95 off-platform transfer fee, charged to the seller completing the transfer. With Pro, that fee is $0. Keep in mind this only moves the animal's record between accounts: because the payment did not go through Creatures, an off-platform sale does not carry the held-funds buyer protection that an on-platform sale does.
There is one important detail that applies to everyone, with or without Pro: your first off-platform transfer is always free. The fee only starts from your second accepted transfer onward. So Pro waives this fee from your second transfer onward; the first one costs nothing regardless.
The one nuance worth reading twice: direct vs. covered by your org
The waivers do not all check Pro the same way, and the difference matters if you use organizations:
- The marketplace seller fee and the one-time booking provider fee apply only to the account that holds Pro directly. Your personal sales need your personal Pro. An org's Pro frees the org's sales, not your personal ones.
- The off-platform transfer fee (and the recurring caretaker services) are broader: you get the waiver if you hold Pro or if an organization you own or co-own holds Pro.
Put plainly: "my org has Pro" frees your transfers (and your stewardship, boarding, and storage provider fees), but it does not free the seller fee on a listing you sell from your personal account. If you want your personal listings fee-free, your personal account needs Pro.
Credit and promo codes apply to your first invoice
If you have Creatures Credit or a promo code, it applies to the first invoice only of your Pro subscription. After that, renewals bill your saved card at the full price. So a credit balance or a launch code lowers what you pay to start, not every month forever.
Managing your plan: subscribe, cancel, switch

- Subscribing: start from
/subscription, pick monthly or annual, and complete checkout through Stripe. As soon as payment succeeds, your benefits are active. - Canceling: when you cancel, your Pro stays active through the end of the period you have already paid for, then stops. You do not lose the time you paid for, and you are not charged again. While a cancellation is pending, the page shows when it will end and offers a Reactivate Subscription button if you change your mind. The control to cancel is labeled Cancel renewal.
- Switching to annual (monthly plans): if you are on the monthly plan, you can switch to annual at any time to start a fresh 12-month term and save the roughly $100 versus monthly. You are charged a prorated annual amount, with your unused monthly time applied to it, and your monthly charges stop.
When Pro is worth it
Pro pays off when the fees it waives add up to more than the membership. A seller doing even a few thousand dollars of sales a year clears the cost on the seller-fee waiver alone, and the transfer-fee and provider-fee waivers add to that. For the seller-fee math from the selling side, see Seller fees and the Creatures Pro subscription.
Your Pro membership sits alongside the rest of your account: proceeds still land in your Creatures Wallet, and your Creatures Credit still applies to that first invoice. For how a payout reaches your bank, see How seller payout works.
