The breeding dashboard
The breeding dashboard
The breeding dashboard is your at-a-glance view of every animal you are breeding, so nothing slips through the cracks. This guide explains each stat, what is on a pregnancy card, and the other sections it pulls together.
Open it
From your Dashboard, open Breeding. This is the whole-account view, not the Breeding tab on a single animal.

The stats across the top
Five counts summarize where things stand, and each is defined precisely:
- Expecting: how many active breeding cycles you have.
- Due soon: cycles due within the next 30 days (counting from today). This is your near-term workload.
- Overdue: cycles whose expected date (or window end) has already passed without a recorded outcome. These need attention first.
- Photos this week: pre-birth progress photos you have added in the last seven days, a quick read on how actively you are documenting.
- To attach: progress photos logged without a cycle link. Attaching them is what makes them show on the right pregnancy, so this is a small cleanup count.
The expecting cards
Each active pregnancy gets a card, sorted by due date (soonest first), showing:
- The dam and the species' term ("calving expected," "whelping expected," and so on).
- The due date or window, and how it is labeled changes with urgency: a future date reads "Due {date}," a passed one reads "Overdue {date}," and a range reads "Window {start} to {end}."
- A status chip when relevant: Overdue (red) once the date has passed, Due soon when it is within the near-term window, and Needs update (amber) when a pregnancy is getting close but has no recent progress photo, a nudge to go capture one.
- The sire or source (linked if on Creatures, or shown as the stored material it came from).
- The most recent progress photo and when it was taken, or a note that there are none yet.
- Actions: a primary button that adapts to the situation (record the birth when it is due or overdue, add a photo when one is overdue, or open the breeding tab otherwise), plus a menu with add photo, compare, open tab, and record birth.
The other sections
- Recent outcomes lists your most recently resolved cycles, each linking to its litter group (or to the dam's breeding tab if no litter was created).
- Projected care reminders mirrors the upcoming care items from your Care dashboard for the next stretch, so breeding and routine care sit in one place.
- Stored material outcomes surfaces results from your stored genetic material (which straws and embryos produced offspring, and how many were registered), keeping the breeding and genetics sides connected.
What it shows you
The dashboard only includes animals you manage, meaning ones where you are the owner, a co-owner, or on the team (including custodial and boarding roles), and it leaves out deceased animals. So it is your working list, not a public view.
